GUBER, PARK, FLOWERS, BEAUTINESS OF OLD SREBRENICA

This afternoon a group of women from Srebrenica and from Italy met at Sara, a local organization which focus on women issue, in the Dom Kulture. Lalla Golfarelli from orlando an italian women association was curious and interested to know if Italian women could help the women from Srebrenica to  rehabilitate some of the common public space like park, squares, old path.
Showing some old post cards of the town, Lalla managed to break the ice and the women start telling us stories of the past describing the home town they loved so much.
Even though the linguistic differences, the women could transmit to the their host their wish and passion regarding certain places as Guber walk, the main square, the park.
The place the women of Srebrenica retain really important, was the Guber, a path walk that leads to a view above the town. All of them remember the path walk as a place of love where they were living their first love stories.
Together with this emerged the strong wish to give to the town a proper parking space and doing so free walk path and other public spaces from wildly parked cars. They also explained that in the past even the parking space was full of flower with different colors.
The meeting finished with a mutual agreement between all participants to look together for possible way of funding but moreover joint action for animating the interest of the other women to bring back some of the beauty of Srebrenica.

Annika
